§ 01 What is Atomurus?
Atomurus is a free, browser-based chemistry laboratory. It brings together an interactive periodic table with all 118 elements, a Visualizador (Bohr, Rutherford, Quantum, Thomson and Dalton models), molecular visualizations and a growing set of chemistry calculators — all running directly in your browser, with no installation.
§ 02 Our mission
We believe great chemistry tools shouldn't sit behind paywalls, logins or app stores. Atomurus is built around three principles:
- Open access. No sign-ups, no registrations, no email required. Just open and learn.
- Scientific accuracy. Atomic data is based on IUPAC 2024 references and CODATA 2022 constants, with masses in unified atomic mass units (u).
- Modern, careful design. Every panel, animation and color was tuned to make complex chemistry feel approachable.
§ 03 What you'll find inside
- Periodic Table — Click any element to explore atomic mass, electron configuration, electronegativity, oxidation states, occurrence and real-world applications.
- Visualizador — Rotate and inspect historical and modern models of the atom in real time, powered by WebGL.
- 3D Molecules & Allotropes — Visualize the geometry of common substances such as water, ammonia, methane and rust.
- Calculators — Molar mass, dilution, ideal gas and pH (with more tools coming soon).
§ 04 Why we built this
Atomurus started as a personal project to make chemistry feel less like memorization and more like exploration. Most online tables and atomic viewers are either visually outdated, locked behind subscriptions or scattered across separate tools. Atomurus brings them together under one consistent design system, with attention to typography, color and animation that respects the science.
§ 05 Open by default
You don't need an account to use any feature on Atomurus. Your preferences (theme, element size, language) are stored locally in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
§ 06 Built with
Atomurus is built with standard web technologies — HTML, CSS and JavaScript — using Three.js for 3D rendering and Chart.js for trend graphs. The site is statically hosted, so it loads fast anywhere in the world.
§ 07 Independence
Atomurus is an independent educational project. It is supported by non-intrusive advertising, which helps keep the site fully free and open for everyone. For more details on how data is handled, please see our Privacy Policy.
